Moores in New York Censuses

This is a map I created of the Moores in New York from 1790. I plan on having it include the Federal Censuses of 1790, 1800, 1810, and 1820, but it is a work in progress.

The markers aren’t supposed to be where exactly the person was living, they’re supposed to be approximations based on their census location. This especially true in the New York City locations–I haven’t bothered to look up the different census wards, so I just guessed and tried to cluster them together. Some places I guessed based on current names–for instance, I guessed Saratoga was what is now Saratoga Springs and that Balls Town was what is now the area around Ballston and Ballston Spa.

Yellow = 1790 US Census
Purple = 1815 port arrival
Magenta = 1840 Pensioners
Yellow Houses = my interest for William H Moore
